Economic Benefit Analysis for Corn Germ Oil Expression

The traditional technology is whole grain method for alcohol production by corn fermentation. Because the germs with high oil content are mixed in the fermentation, it generates a thick oil layer and the carbon dioxide (generated from the feed liquid fermentation) can not emit in time. This causes acidity increase of fermentation liquor, sugar degree lost increase, incomplete fermentation and affects the yield of alcohol products. In the alcohol plant with corn as raw material, they degerm corns first and then remove the impurities of the raw material and the fat that doesn’t produce alcohol. This can reduce the processing capacity of the alcohol fermentation raw material, the emission load of the lees liquid and the production cost of the alcohol. The germs adopts pressing method and the oil is not polluted. They are green food. This also improves the production efficiency.
Analysis of the total value per day of degerming and oil extraction
The line with corn degerming rate 8%, daily yield 500tons can produce pure germs 40tons(moisture 16%) with oil content 30% of the germs.
If the oil cake residual oil ratio is 8%, then the oil productivity of 40 tons of germs is 22%(30%-8%). Practically, crude oil yield 8.8tons- the moisture volatilization of the crude oil 1.1 tons(12% X8.8tons)=net crude oil 7.7tons(12%=germs moisture 16%-the dregs moisture 4% ).
The market price of the crude oil: 7500 RMB/ton, 7.7X7500=57750 RMB，the market price for daily yield of crude oil: 57750 RMB.
Cost of germ extraction and oil expression
The dregs and the mixed materials are merged and crushed and this doesn’t run off the alcohol yield. DDGS feed, crude fat content keeps 6-8%. This doesn’t affect the feed price, but reduces cost for each section in brewing technology.
Power consumption of tons of material in germ extraction:17 KW/H, electricity price for each KW/H : 0.85RMB,then daily yield of 500 tons of raw grain: 500X（17KW/HX0.85RMB）=daily electricity price 7225 RMB
Power consumption of tons of material in oil expression: 54KW/H, electricity price for each KW/H:0.85RMB, then the daily yield of 40 tons of germs: 40X（54KW/HX0.85RMB）= daily electricity price 1620RMB
Steam consumption of tons of material of oil expression: 200KG, daily steam quantity demand of 40 tons of germs: 8 tons, steam price for each ton is 200 RMB, then the daily steam price is 1600 RMB.
Manual and management cost
The germ extraction section can be divided into 3 classes. Staff of each class:4 people. The group leader of each class:1. The 3 classes of staff sum to 15 people. If each hour salary for each staff is 10 RMB（15 staff X8 hoursX10RMB/hour），then the daily staff salary is 1200RMB.
The oil expression section can be divided into 3 classes. Each class staff: 3 people. The shop manager of the section: 1 people. Total staff: 10 people. If the average salary for each staff for each hour is 10 RMB, （10 peopleX8 hours X10RMB），then staff’s daily salary is 800 RMB.
Management cost: germ extraction, oil expression, crushing section can be arranged one deputy general manager of production, one section director, one technician, one mechanist, and the total staff is 5 people. If the hour salary for each staff is 18RMB (5 staff X8 hours X18RMB），then the daily cost for management is 720RMB.
Wearing parts and consumables
Cost for electricity for illumination, water for life, labour protection is about 150 RMB.
Cost for grease, bearings, driving belts, screening slice is about 300RMB per day.
Daily wearing parts and consumables cost 450RMB.
Financial investment management
Cost of 840 square kilometers in degerming and oil expression：
Civil engineering investment: about 1,260,000 RMB
Equipments investment: about 8,000,000 RMB
Public facilities: about 500,000 RMB
Total investment: about 9,760,000 RMB
Calculate by the monthly interest of 1%，annual interest is 1,200,000 RMB, then the daily financial management cost if 327 RMB.

Market price of daily yield of crude oil after germ extraction and oil expression is 57750 RMB.
Daily cost of electricity and steam（7225+1620+1600）RMB，total 10445 RMB.
Daily cost of manual work and management（1200+800+720）RMB，total 2720 RMB.
Cost of wearing parts and consumables 450 RMB
Daily financial cost 327 RMB.
Cost of production above: 13942 RMB.
Pure profit
Daily market value 57750 RMB, daily production cost 13942 RMB, then daily profit 43808 RMB, monthly 1314240 RMB, annual 13142400 RMB(ten months of production period in one year).
